EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards Selecting & promoting Europe's best in digital and interactive media
Awards The EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards are Europe’s contest for young professionals and students who work on innovative projects in the field of e-contents and design - using whichever multimedia channel or platform. Projects can be submitted in 9 categories and one special award.
Festival The EUROPRIX Multimedia Festival showcases and promotes young professionals and top students and honours them for their outstanding achievements. Over three days, this event frames the platform for networking, exchange of ideas, experiences and business contacts between the multimedia newcomers, instructors, the European IT-industry and IT-media editors and journalists.
Projects The EUROPRIX winning projects are the best of young multimedia contents and design in Europe. The projects and products are the top selection from all entries to the EUROPRIX Multimedia Awards. They show that the new developments are not isolated, but that from the Baltic to the Mediterranean, from small towns to the European capitals, young media designers have taken charge of the technologies to create new applications and contents that work in the real world.

The Google Online Marketing Challenge is a global student online marketing competition open to any higher education institution, anywhere in the world. Developed by professors in collaboration with Google, the Challenge is a great opportunity for students to gain practical, real world online marketing experience. Students also get the excitement of competing on a global level, with the overall winners and their professor/lecturer receiving a trip to the Googleplex in Mountain View. In addition, regional winners and their professor will receive a trip to their local Google office.
The 2008 Google Online Marketing Challenge saw more than 1600 student teams from 47 countries around the world taking part in this global competition.
How does it work? Student teams receive US$200 of free online advertising with Google AdWords and then work with local businesses to devise effective online marketing campaigns. SL:MIMA goes into the next round March 2009
In cooperation with Chris Hales, an artist and specialist in the 'interactive moving image', a new SL:MIMA category has been set-up – the "Interactive Movie". By "interactive" we mean that a substantial and integral part of the final piece is the role of the interactivity. The role and use of interactivity will be one of the principal judging criteria of works entered in this category. The result of the user interaction is expected to be more substantial than just mixing/controlling audio tracks or selecting from a menu. Interactive Movies submitted for SL:MIMA can be composed either of traditionally filmed or computer generated imagery.
SL:MIMA is now open for submissions. More information at. www.swan-lake-award.org.
